MIMO — Child Safety Standards
Mimo (“Mimo”, “we”, “the App”) is a dating and social application operated by the team behind Mimo. This page sets out our public child safety standards and our policy against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE).
Mimo is committed to keeping the platform safe and complying with applicable child protection laws, including Google Play requirements for dating and social apps.
1. Audience: adults only
Mimo is intended exclusively for adults aged 18 or over. Minors may not create an account, use the App, or participate in any platform feature.
- Registration requires confirmation of a minimum age of 18.
- Profiles suggesting an age under 18, false age information, or use by minors are removed.
- Accounts linked to attempts to circumvent these rules may be suspended or permanently banned.
2. Prohibited conduct (CSAE)
It is strictly prohibited to use Mimo in any way for child sexual abuse or exploitation (CSAE). This includes, without limitation:
- Sexual exploitation or abuse of minors — any sexual conduct involving a person under 18.
- Grooming — approaching, manipulating or building trust with the aim of sexual abuse, exploitation or improper contact with minors, on or off the platform.
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — uploading, sharing, soliciting, possessing, distributing or facilitating access to images, videos, text or any other content depicting child sexual abuse.
- Posing as a minor, helping minors access the App, or encouraging minors to create accounts.
- Any attempt to move conversations from the App to external channels for the purpose of abusing or exploiting minors.
These prohibitions apply to profiles, messages, photos, events, MIMO Dates and any other content or interaction on Mimo.
3. Actions by Mimo
When we detect or receive reports of child-safety violations, Mimo may, depending on severity:
- Immediately remove infringing content.
- Suspend or permanently ban involved accounts.
- Preserve relevant records for internal investigation.
- Report CSAM and CSAE cases to competent authorities, including law enforcement and specialised organisations, as required by applicable law.
- Cooperate with judicial and police authorities when legally required.
Mimo treats CSAM reports with the highest priority. Confirmed CSAM is removed without delay and is not reintroduced to the platform.
4. In-app reporting
Users can report profiles, messages or suspicious behaviour directly in the App using the report options available on profiles and in conversations.
You may also email us to report any child-safety concern, including suspected grooming, underage profiles or CSAM.
5. Child Safety Point of Contact
For questions related to child safety, CSAE or CSAM, contact Mimo’s point of contact:
Email: seguranca@mimo.app
Suggested subject: “Child Safety / Segurança infantil”. We will respond as quickly as possible, prioritising CSAM reports and immediate risk to minors.
6. Legal compliance
Mimo undertakes to comply with applicable laws on child protection and combating child sexual abuse, including reporting obligations to authorities when required by law.
These standards complement our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. In case of conflict on child-safety matters, the more protective rules for minors prevail.
7. Updates
We may update this page to reflect legal changes, app-store requirements or improvements to our procedures. The version published at mimo.barrza.com/child-safety is the current version.
